Important Rule Changes For
Spring 2012
Players Ages 9YO thru 12YO Will Be Allowed To
Participate On Both League & Travel Ball Teams. For
These Age Groups Warrior Baseball Will Not Schedule Saturday
Games on Selected Weekends In Order To Allow Players To
Participate In Travel Ball Tournaments.
Rules Regarding Travel Ball Participation For
Ages 8YO & Under Will Not Change For Spring 2012.
5 Year Olds Will Have The Option Of Coach
Pitch Or T-Ball At Bats For The Spring 2012 Season. A
Synopsis Of Those Rule Changes Are Listed Below.
1. Coach pitch at bats will be played under normal 5 year
old defensive rules.
2. Any batter can bat from the tee or be pitched to by
their coach. Once the batter steps in the box and commits
to that style he must stay with that choice throughout the
at bat.
3.
Batters choosing to bat under coach pitch rules will receive
3 strikes or 5 pitches to put the ball into play. A
foul on the fifth pitch does not count towards the batters 5
pitch limit.
4.
Only bats with a 2 1/4 diameter barrel will be allowed for
the 5 year old age group. No Big Barrel Bats will be
allowed for coach pitch at bats.
5.
The offensive team may have an additional coach to step out
on the field to pitch or catch for coach pitch at bats. Both
coaches will be required to move to the backstop (out of the
field of play) as soon as the ball is put into play.
If the next batter chooses to hit from the Tee, the fourth
coach must return to the dugout for that at bat.
6.
All normal five year old rules (i.e. batters per innings, on
final batter defense touches plate to accomplish dead ball,
5 total coaches, etc.) will be enforced.
Dizzy Dean Bat Rules for 2012
The bat shall be an
unaltered baseball bat (not softball), with the following
age specific requirements:
a) For ages 5‐12,
all non‐wood
bats "MUST" meet 1.15 BPF (Bat Performance Factor) for the
life of the bat and "MUST" possess a "clearly identifiable"
manufacture’s certification stamp. This will include 2 1/4,
2 5/8, and 2 3/4 barrel bats.
BBCOR bats are legal for use in ages 5‐12.
b) Bats that are broken, cracked, dented or
deface the ball are illegal.
c) There shall be no devices, attachments or
wrappings that cause the handle to become flush with the
knob. Molded grips and Choke up knobs are illegal.
